ABOUT | Eschewing both nostalgic faux-colonial and contractor modernism styles so prevalent in the rapidly gentrifying river wards neighborhoods of Philadelphia, we worked closely with our creative clients in the design of their home to form a language that speaks to the scale and materiality of its neighbors while standing firmly in its own time and place. Removing natural gas from the project was a political decision the team agreed to early on, leading to using Passive House principles to achieve a HERS Index of 14 and Zero Energy Ready Home certification.

SUSTAINABLE STRATEGIES | Airtightness = 0.30 ACH50 | High efficiency air-to-air heat pump | Energy Recovery Ventilation | Energy Star appliances | Low-flow plumbing fixtures
