BEV

Multi-Family Residential
New Construction
31,000 SF
Philadelphia, PA

The BEV, or Big Efficient Volume, contains thirty residential units, a fitness area and a ground floor commercial space along a prominent Philadelphia corridor. This corner development was shaped by a series of local building requirements that required reduced building height, strict parking requirements and increased transparency at the street level. Along with an efficient grid of residential units and stacked structural elements, the exterior design is a geometrically restrained, materially extravagant box, dressed in rose mauve and white glazed brick to soften its efficient edge. Large stacked windows reflect the industrial warehouses of Philadelphia’s near past.
